My Funny Valentine Foundation believes that responsibility, especially towards that which has come from vulnerable circumstances, is one of the most core expressions of love. We are devoted to creating goodwill networks for volunteering efforts.

Volunteer Opportunities

Rescue Farm Animals

  • Cleaning out stalls for the horses, cows, goats, alpacas, and other large animals at rescue facilities. These rescue animals come from abused and neglectful backgrounds.  This work is especially important because if the stalls are not clean and warm the animals cannot lie down and rest. This disallows their recovery and well-being. The inability to lie down also harms their feet and their joints, causing them pain. This is hard work, but it is work anyone can do, and the most essential work to any rescue farm environment. We ask that volunteers be at least fourteen years of age, and that parents are not coercing the work. This work requires a real desire.

  • Cleaning bunny, duck, and rooster enclosures.

  • Preparing hay nest to feed the larger animals, hand-feeding baby lambs and cows, cleaning out water pans.

  • Cutting horse hooves, brushing horses and ponies, shearing sheep and alpacas.

  • Building out-buildings for the protection of hay and other supplies.

  • Building shelters.

  • Helping to develop an increased veterinarian network for rescue animals.

Dogs, Cats, and other Animal Companions

  • Fostering or adopting animals in need or facilitating connections to potential foster or adoptive parents .
